Web3 needs to stop looking like a rave

The Neon Cyberpunk Fatigue

I love decentralized technology, but the visual direction of Web3 has been exhausting for years. For a long time, every single crypto app, NFT platform, or protocol landing page looked like a neon cyberpunk nightclub. Glowing neon purples, harsh electric greens, floating 3D coins, and dark sci-fi grids were forced onto every single screen regardless of what the product actually did.

Designing for Humans, Not Hype

If decentralized applications are ever going to reach mainstream adoption, they need to stop designing for crypto-native enthusiasts and start designing for normal human beings. People don't want their financial dashboard or identity wallet to look like an arcade game. They want clarity, trust, legibility, and simplicity. They need to know where their money is going without having to decipher confusing technical jargon and flashing UI elements.

Building Restrained Trust

The shift needs to be toward calm, restrained, high-trust SaaS design. Clean typography, subtle dark tones, straightforward transaction state flows, and clear security indicators will do way more for user adoption than another glowing 3D illustration. A crypto wallet shouldn't look like a sci-fi rave; it should look like a bank vault designed by minimalists.
